Who is responsible for your data
Crate Dog is operated by Raphael Gal as an individual seller. Raphael Gal is the data controller for personal information collected through the service.
Information we collect
Account data: email address and login credentials (managed via Supabase Auth, including optional Google sign-in).
App data you create: saved DJ sets, track pool entries, followed DJs, set notes, and tracks added to sets.
Usage data: AI search counts, feature usage events, and device/browser information needed for the service to function.
Subscription data: plan status, subscription identifiers, and billing period dates received from our payment provider (Paddle). We do not store your card details.
How we use your information
To run the app, save your data, enforce plan limits, and authenticate you.
To provide AI-powered discovery and track recommendations.
To process subscriptions and grant Pro access based on payment status.
To improve reliability, prevent abuse, and respond to support requests.
Legal basis for processing
We process your personal data on the basis of: (a) performance of our contract with you (providing the service you signed up for), (b) our legitimate interests in operating, securing, and improving the service, (c) compliance with legal obligations, and (d) your consent where required.
Who we share data with
Paddle (Paddle.com Market Limited) — our Merchant of Record. Paddle processes all payments, handles billing, taxes, invoicing, refunds, and subscription management. See https://www.paddle.com/legal/privacy.
Supabase — hosting, authentication, and database storage for your account and app data.
Spotify, SoundCloud, Bandcamp, Beatport — third-party music services used to look up track metadata and play previews. Searches you perform may be sent to these services to return results.
Google Gemini, Perplexity, Firecrawl — AI and web-scraping providers used to generate track recommendations. Your search prompts and DJ-set context may be sent to these providers to produce results.
Service providers we rely on for hosting, analytics, and operations.
Authorities or legal advisers, where required by law.
We do not sell your personal information.
AI prompts
When you use discovery or AI features, your prompts and the relevant context (genre, BPM, energy, tracks already in the set) are processed by AI providers to generate recommendations. Avoid submitting sensitive personal information in search prompts.
Retention and deletion
We keep account and app data while your account is active and as needed for legal, security, accounting, and operational purposes. You may request deletion of your account data — once deleted, it cannot be recovered. Subscription records may be retained as required by tax and accounting law.
Your rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, export, restrict, or delete your personal data, object to processing, withdraw consent, and lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. To exercise these rights, contact us through the support details in the app — we respond within a reasonable time and typically within one month.
International transfers
Some of our service providers (including Paddle, Supabase, and our AI providers) may process data outside your country, including in the US and EU. We rely on appropriate safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses or adequacy decisions) where required.
Security
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit, access controls, and row-level security on the database. No system is completely secure, but we work to keep your data safe.
